Sharmilla Ganesan

Sharmilla Ganesan is a writer, journalist and arts and culture critic with more than 15 years’ experience covering and commenting on the Malaysian and regional culture scene. With her work intersecting journalism on an array of social issues as well as arts and culture, Sharmilla has developed a keen interest in applying the knowledge and experience from these towards shaping Malaysia’s arts and culture landscape. Her portfolio includes hosting shows on the arts, films, books, and current affairs on BFM 89.9, and writing about various aspects of culture for The Star newspaper. She has also written for The Atlantic, South China Morning Post, NewNaratif, and ArtsEquator, and is a former Asia Journalism Fellow (2017) and Fulbright/Humphrey Fellow (2015/2016).
