Sergio Nicoletti-Altimari is deputy head of the Financial Stability Unit at the Bank of Italy. Between 2006 and 2008, he has been economic adviser of the Minister of the Economy and Finance of Italy. In previous positions, he worked at the European Central Bank as deputy head of the Monetary Policy Strategy division. His main research interests are macroeconomics, monetary policy and macroprudential regulation. Recent publications include the paper "Contingent Liquidity" (Bank of Italy's Occasional Paper n. 70) and the article "Contingent liquidity: a proposal to reduce liquidity risk" on VoxEu. Mr. Nicoletti-Altimari holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
