Saad E. Ibrahim is the founder of the Arab Organization for Human Rights, as well as the founder of Ibn Khaldun Center for Development Studies. He is credited with playing a leading role in the revival of Egypt's contemporary research-based civil society movement. For most of his professional career, he was a professor of sociology at the American University in Cairo and he holds a Trustee position at the Arab Democracy Foundation. In addition, he was previously the Wallerstein distinguished visiting professor at the Drew University Center on Religion, Culture & Conflict in Madison, New Jersey. Saad is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
