Ronald G. Sultana is professor of sociology and of comparative education at the University of Malta, where he is also founding director of the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Educational Research. He has carried out his postgraduate studies at the University of Reading (UK), and at the University of Waikato (NZ), from where he obtained his PhD. He was Fulbright Fellow at Stanford University, and has participated as a consulting expert in several international research projects across Europe and in the Middle East and North Africa region. Professor Sultana is author or co/editor of 32 volumes, and has published over 120 papers in such areas as education innovation, equity, teacher education, vocational education, and transition to work. He is the series editor of "Education in the Mediterranean", now published by Brill. He has most recently edited Career Guidance and Livelihood Planning across the Mediterranean (Sense Publishers, 2017), and has co-edited two volumes on Career Guidance for Social Justice (Routledge 2018, 2019). In 2020, Sultana was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Université Laval (Quebec) for his research work in promoting social justice.
