Romeo Cerutti has been a member of the executive board and general counsel for Credit Suisse AG since 2009. Prior to that, he was general counsel of the private banking division and global co-head of compliance of the company. Before joining Credit Suisse, he was partner of the group holding and head of corporate finance at Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie. Earlier in his career, Romeo was in private practice as attorney-at-law with Homburger Rechtsanwaelte in Zurich and Latham and Watkins in Los Angeles. Romeo is vice chairman of Vifor Pharma Ltd., chairman of Swiss Finance Institute, legal group member of American-Swiss Chamber of Commerce, and vice chairman of the board of directors of Savoy Hotel Baur en Ville AG. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Ulrico Hoepli Foundation. Romeo holds a master in law (lic.iur.) from University of Fribourg, a doctorate in law from University of Fribourg, a master of law (LLM) from University of California Los Angeles and a post-doctorate degree in law (habilitation) from University of Fribourg.
