Rebecca McAvoy, student at Michigan State University, (MSU), in East Lansing, Michigan (MI), studying Journalism with a minor in Broadcast Journalism. She is also a part of the Honors College at MSU and has been on the Dean’s List every semester of her schooling. Rebecca’s professional goal is to become a news producer. Currently, she works at Impact 89.FM, the radio station at MSU. She hosts, writes, and produces a daily podcast that covers MSU top headlines. It is a collaboration with the radio station and the MSU newspaper, The State News. She has been nominated for 2 awards during her tenure at Impact.89FM. Rebecca is also a member of the Sigma Delta Tau Sorority at MSU. She has been published within the School of Journalism's newspaper for her research on new permits regarding changes to ordinances in East Lansing MI, as well as research into how federal health cuts in the United States have affected mental health across Michigan. She is currently a sophomore who is on her way of getting her Bachelor of Arts degree.
