Ravi Sreedharan is an engineer and obtained his MBA from top institutions in India. He worked in the corporate world for 24 years, mostly with HSBC across Asia. He quit his successful corporate career in 2011, at the age of 49 to return to India and pursue a career in social work. Back in India, he was part of the leadership team at Azim Premji Foundation from 2011 to 2015 working across India in strengthening public schools. In 2015, he left to work in a remote village for a year when he also developed the idea of Indian School of Development Management (ISDM). The genesis of ISDM was the idea that the approach and frameworks required to lead and manage social purpose organizations are very different from conventional management. In January, 2016 Ravi founded ISDM - a non-profit institution with a vision to develop and define development management and drive systemic change in the sector. In a short period of 3 years, Ravi and the team at ISDM created a pioneering, world class institution. Besides offering the first of its kind post-graduate program in development leadership, ISDM is also rapidly becoming a fountain of knowledge for development management and making this freely available to all.
