Raquel Katzkowicz is the director of the Albert Einstein School in Quito, Ecuador. She is a chemistry professor and teacher and has worked as a school administrator and teacher trainer for the past twenty years. Ms. Katzkowicz has sat on several national commissions on education-related issues and was a consultant for the UNESCO's office in Santiago, Chile, from 2000 to 2007. She has conducted a number of research projects in the areas of science education and secondary-school education. Since 2008 she has been collaborating with the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education to develop and implement a human rights, Holocaust and recent genocides unit to be used in high schools nation-wide. She holds a doctorate in social and human sciences, a master's degree in education, and a degree in educational centers management from the Catholic University of Uruguay.
