Ralph LAND is the co-chairman of the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce in London. Mr. Land began his career as a management accountant for J Lyons and later joined their pioneering LEO computer team. From 1963 he became responsible for their East European business and later, successively, for the East European businesses of ICL, Rank Xerox, and Rolls Royce Plc. Mr. Land was also managing director of ICL's subsidiary in Germany and later a member of ICL's International Advisory Board, chairman of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce, deputy chairman of the Westminster Foundation of Democracy, a director of the Corporation of London's Ceenet, a member of the East European Trade Council, chairman of the UNICE Task Force on EU Enlargement in Brussels, and a member of the Economic and Social Research Council's Programme Funding Board. In addition, he is the chairman of British Consultants Charitable Trust and is, or has been a trustee of a number of NGO's and charities including, the British Broadcasting Company World Service Trust, Hamlet Trust, British Executive Service Overseas, and Healthprom. Mr. Land holds a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
