Radoslaw Rybkowski is an associate professor at Jagiellonian University, Poland. He has been engaged in researching higher education systems since 2000, just after joining the Jagiellonian University as a faculty member. He authored two monographs, examining the development and present conditions of the US higher education (published in Polish). He authored or coauthored several reports on Polish higher education commissioned by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Center of Research and Development and National Agency for Academic Exchange. Radek conducted his research on North American higher education policy at various institutions, including: Department of Political Science, University of Rochester (2005, 2008); Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, New York University (2004, 2009), Faculty of Education, York University (2010, 2012). From 2016-19 he was a member of Polish Accreditation Committee, the national statutory agency responsible for higher education quality assurance. His field of expertise is the external governance of higher education, especially the impact of regulations on institutional autonomy. He is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
