Prejit is the officer-in- charge of Centre for One Health Education, Advocacy, Research and Training (COHEART) since 2014. He is also in charge of the Department of Veterinary Public Health, CVAS, Pookode. Prejit is a recipient of various awards such as the G.P Sen Endowment award, Dr. SP Singh Best research paper award, Young scientist award and KVASU's Best teacher award. He has also received international travel grants for various short term assignments at Turkey, Nepal, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, United States, and Thailand. He has secured "Outstanding One Health Surveillance Award" during the Annual Conference of ISDS held at Colorado. He has guided many MVSc and PG Diploma students and has published several research articles in journals of national and international repute. Prejit is also the course director of the PG Diploma/ Certificate courses on One Health offered by the Veterinary University. He is also the advisor of International Journal of One Health and the Regional spokesperson for Asian countries nominated by US One Health Commission. He also holding charge of NABL, Food Quality Assurance Lab, Pookode. He did his Ph.D. in veterinary public health at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly.
