Professor of Political Science, Boston College
Peter Skerry is professor of political science at Boston College and a senior fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University. He has served as co-director of the Immigration Policy Roundtable, sponsored jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Kenan Institute. He was previously Senior Fellow at Brookings as well as Research Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. During the 2006-2007 academic year, he was a visiting scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation. His book, Mexican Americans: The Ambivalent Minority, published by Harvard University Press, was awarded the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Peter has served on the Advisory Council on European/Transatlantic Issues of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, an affiliate of the German Green Party. He has also been a member of the board of the United Neighborhood Organization (UNO), a Chicago-based Latino community organization and charter school operator. He is currently completing a book about the social and political integration of Muslims in the United States. He is a Fellow of SSASA 14: Images of America: Reality and Stereotypes, in 2016.
