Peggy Proser, originally from Indiana, USA, is a permanent resident of Japan with over 30 years of experience in international work with sign language and Deaf people. She co-owns several businesses in Tokyo that incorporate the development and coordination of language services, including sign language interpreting, language classes, cultural seminars, support for Deaf foreigners, and guide services for international Deaf visitors in Japan. She also co-founded the Yes, Deaf Can, an NPO with a systematic microcredit fund program that supports Deaf entrepreneurs with promising business proposals in developing countries. In 2013, Peggy worked as a liaison officer for the World Federation of the Deaf in Helsinki, Finland, where she facilitated communication between the president and international agencies. After her graduation, Peggy taught microeconomics and international development courses at Gallaudet University, Washington DC. Peggy holds a BS degree in Business Administration and a MA in International Development from Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.
