Patrick Low has been director of Economic Research and Analysis at the World Trade Organization (WTO) since May 1997. Prior to his current position, he worked for two years in the WTO's Trade in Services Division. Dr. Low worked in the research complex (International Trade Division) of The World Bank from 1990 to 1994. He also taught at El Colegio de México in Mexico City and worked as a consultant, from 1987 to 1990. From 1980 to 1987, Dr. Low worked at the GATT Secretariat in Geneva. He holds a B.A. in economics from University of Kent and Ph.D. in economics from Sussex University in the United Kingdom, and has written widely on a range of trade policy issues.
