Patrick Finnessy is the master chair in English at Lake Forest Academy and an assistant professor with the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. He identifies as a high school teacher of the humanities who wants to directly improve and collaborate with a new generation; a professor of teacher education; and a moral courage team leader, mentor, and facilitator who believes, as Eleanor Roosevelt once quipped, we must do the thing we think we cannot do. A dual citizen of the USA and Canada, he is married to a Greek-Cypriot who has helped him understand Dissoi Logoi, the concept of helping one gain a deeper insight of an issue by considering multiple angles. His research looks at qualitative issues related to language, culture, identity, and integrity.
