Pamela Passman

Pamela Passman is a board director of Kinaxis Inc., a Toronto-listed supply chain management company, as well as a senior associate (non-resident) of the economics program at the Center for Strategic & International Studies. She speaks and writes on enterprise risk management, data protection, cybersecurity, intellectual property, anti-corruption, supply chain and third-party risk, and business in Asia. She was recognized by Security Magazine as one of the most influential people in security. Pamela was founder and president of the Center for Responsible Enterprise and Trade and vice chair of the Ethisphere Institute, distinct entities with a common mission to promote leading practices to manage key governance, compliance, and risks for companies and their global value chains. Prior to founding the Center for Responsible Enterprise and Trade in October 2011, Pamela was the corporate vice president and deputy general counsel of global corporate and regulatory affairs at the Microsoft Corporation. From 2002-2011, Pamela led Microsoft's regulatory compliance work across a range of issues, including privacy, security, law enforcement, relations and public policy work, and philanthropic programs. Prior to joining Microsoft in 1996, Pamela practiced law with Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. and Nagashima & Ohno in Tokyo, Japan. She served on the board of IO, a data center infrastructure and cloud computing company that was sold to Iron Mountain in 2018. She currently serves on the board and as vice chair of Kids in Needs of Defense (KIND) and as a trustee of Lafayette College. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on its Nominating and Governance Committee. She is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
