Nitish is currently working for Chottagram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) as professor and Director of Teaching and training Pet Hospital and Research Centre. Immediately before this, he had worked for FAO ECTAD as Senior Technical Advisor- One Health and Veterinary Education for seven years. He was also the Founding Vice Chancellor of CVASU and Dean of Veterinary Medicine and principal of Veterinary College prior to his career . Nitish was involved in developing a learning program for veterinary undergraduate students. In 2008, he launched One Health movement and formed One Health Bangladesh as a civil society platform for a whole of a society One Health movement in Bangladesh. Nitish obtained Phd in Virology from University of Surrey, UK, and M.S.c in tropical Vet Med from University of Edinburgh.
