Nevin El Nadi is the chief operating officer at Shamseya, a non-for-profit company for innovative community healthcare solutions, based in Cairo. Despite having studied biology, Nevin insisted on shifting to a career in the healthcare sector, after a family member underwent an excruciating end of life experience as a cancer patient. Her work revolves around improving patients' experience in Egyptian hospitals by promoting the placement of health service users at the center of healthcare and calling for effective doctor-patient communication, especially with patients with life-threatening diseases. She has recently completed research work on industry-sponsored clinical trials in Egypt and is currently developing an analytical report on end of life care in Egypt and the region.
