Natalia Vysotska is a full professor in the theory and history of world literature department of Kyiv National Linguistics University. Her scholarly interests encompass African American literature with special focus on Black American drama; multi/transculturalism in American literature; theatre and drama in the USA. Natalia's major publications include three books in Ukrainian (The Concept of Multiculturalism as a Factor in US Recent Literary History, 2012; The Unity of the Plural. Late 20th - early 21st cc. American Literature in the Context of Cultural Pluralism, 2010; At the Crossroads of Civilizations: African American Drama as a Multicultural Phenomenon, 1997); - and numerous essays, articles, sections in textbooks, and dictionary entries addressing various issues of American fiction and drama, multi/transculturalism and ethnic literatures published in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Greece, Germany, Poland, Romania and the USA. She is a member of the European Association of American Studies (EAAS), European Collegium for African American Research (CAAR), and a Fulbright Program Alumna (1995). She was also president of the Ukrainian Association of Fulbright Program Alumni (2011-2014). Natalia was a resident Scholar at the Kennan Institute (Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Washington, D.C., 2002). She is currently working on Shakespearean presence in contemporary American drama. Natalia received her doctoral degree in American literature from the Institute of Literature, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1998). She is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
