Reza Fakhari, Ph.D., is President and CEO of Salzburg, Austria-based Global Citizenship Alliance. He is currently a Board member of Amnesty International USA and served as its past Chair. He was Chair of the Board of Student World Assembly which aimed to engage students from all over the world in critical reflection and new thinking about pressing global issues. Reza served as Vice President for Internationalization and Strategic Initiatives and professor of international relations and human rights at St. Francis College. Prior to St. Francis, he served for 30 years in progressively responsible roles at LaGuardia Community College and Kingsborough Community College of the City University of New York as professor, dean, associate provost and vice president. He has developed programs in international studies, global citizenship, and human rights. His research interests include globalization, democracy, pluralism, human rights, global citizenship, rising authoritarianism, and rights-based approaches to conflict resolution and lasting peace.
