Mohamed Osman is the National Economic Advisor to the President of Somalia, a Member of the National Economic Council, and the Regional Representative of the UN University for Peace (UPEACE). He is also the Founder and CEO of Sadar Institute, Somalia's largest NGO focused on humanitarian aid, resilience, and sustainability, with a strong emphasis on climate change and environmental protection. With over 15 years of experience, his work spans peace and economic development, youth engagement, humanitarian response, peacebuilding, and durable solutions for displaced populations. He actively promotes human rights, multilateralism, maritime security, and disaster resilience in fragile and conflict-affected settings. Mohamed holds a BSc in Economics, dual MAs in Economic Policy and Peace Studies, and a PhD in Peace, Governance, and Development, and is a strong advocate for participatory, locally driven approaches that bridge policy and practice.
