Minkyung Choi is an Assistant Professor of Literacy in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Montclair State University. Her research explores literacy instruction across P-16 settings, emphasizing the power of narrative to highlight the lived experiences of students, immigrants, and refugee populations. She is particularly interested in how disciplinary literacy frameworks can enhance students' reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while fostering equitable and inclusive learning environments. Minkyung's work has been supported by prestigious grants from the Mellon Foundation, the Library of Congress, and the National Endowment for the Humanities K-12 Institutes, particularly for her efforts in developing Asian American curricula for K-12 education. Beyond her academic pursuits, she collaborates with educators to design innovative workshops and spearheads community-based storytelling initiatives.
