Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Fellow, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain

Meem Arafat Manab is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie doctoral Fellow at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where they research the risks and opportunities of European Data Spaces for the European Commission. Their work sits at the intersection of AI ethics, data privacy, and technology policy, fields directly shaping how societies govern emerging technologies and how those technologies, in turn, reshape governance. An interdisciplinary researcher from South Asia, Meem speaks six languages, writes and translates fiction, and believes the most important questions rarely stay within a single discipline. They have worked at the Fujitsu Research Institute in Tokyo, INCIBE (Spain's National Cybersecurity Institute), and BRAC University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where they taught mathematics and data science. A computer science graduate of the University of Dhaka, Meem holds a European master’s degree in law, data and AI from Dublin City University, Ireland, and Universidad de León.
