Mazhar K. Abdelhalim is an assistant professor of political philosophy and American politics at Deraya University, Egypt. He is also the current chairholder of the Boutros Boutros-Ghali Chair for Sustainable Peace at Deraya University and United Nations Academic Impact Initiative. Previously, he was a visiting scholar of the American Politics Development Program at University of Massachusetts, USA and a public affairs adviser to the Egyptian government. He is a chairperson of the United Nations Youth Club - A Youth-Led NGO. He was previously involved in the Nobel Peace Circle - A Youth Led Think Tank as chair and part-time lecturer of philosophy of peace and human rights. Mazhar holds a B.A. in philosophy and an M.A. and Ph.D. in political philosophy from Assiut University. He received Deraya University's Ideal Academic Award for 2015 and the Ideal Seminar for the Academic Year 2015-16 and the Academic Year 2017-18. He has published several articles and edited books as well.
