Mário de Queiros Monteiro JALES is projects coordinator at the Institute for International Trade Negotiations (ICONE) in Brazil, a position he has held since June 2003. Prior to this, he was a research analyst at the Inter-American Development Bank based in Washington, D.C., and researcher at the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C. He was formerly coordinator of the Brazilian Studies Program at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he obtained his M. S. in foreign service, specializing in international commerce and finance, in 2002. Mr. Jales also has an M.A. in Latin American Studies from Stanford University, California, and a B.A. in international relations from Claremont McKenna College, California.
