Maria Helena Restrepo is a clinical oncologist, palliative care and bioethics specialist, and a doctoral candidate of bioethics. She works at the Hospital Pablo Tobon Uribe, Medellin, where she is involved in assistance, teaching, and investigation, and is a member of the Bioethics Committee. Maria is also a professor of palliative care and bioethics at Universidad de la Sabana and was part of the team designing the Palliative Care Law and its regulations recently approved in Colombia. She has been an honorary member of the Pain and Palliative Care Unit at the National Cancer Institute of Bogota and member of the Liga Colombiana contra el Cancer. Maria was an editor for Persona y Bioetica for ten years and founding member and president of Asociación Colombiana de Cuidado Paliativo.
