Iberoamericana University, Mexico
María Inés Oñate is an undergraduate student at the Universidad Iberoamericana of Mexico City. She is about to enter her fourth and final year, and is majoring in communications, with a concentration in journalism. María Inés has just concluded a study exchange program in Freie Universität Berlin. She has worked as a Community Manager for start-up companies, and interned during the Mexican Formula 1 Grand Prix. María Inés has also been recognized for her research projects throughout her undergraduate degree, participating on four occasions in a university-wide colloquium to present the results of her investigations; ranging from studying the cultural impacts of televising the Mexican Lucha Libre, to the analysis of the success behind "Stranger Things", to a journalistic investigation on the discrimination faced by female household workers in upper-class residence complexes in Mexico City. She loves reading, travelling and dancing. She speaks Spanish, English and a little German. She hopes to one day be an investigative journalist or work in a publishing house.
