Marc Skvirsky is the vice president of Facing History and Ourselves where he has been a staff member since 1983. He is a frequent speaker at universities and national and international conferences on curriculum innovation, models for civics education, and teaching adolescents about racism, antisemitism, the Holocaust, and other examples of genocide and collective violence. Mr. Skvirsky also serves on the senior editing team for all Facing History's publications including Holocaust and Human Behavior, Race and Membership in American History: The Eugenics Movement, and Crimes Against Humanity and Civilization: The Genocide of the Armenians. Before joining Facing History and Ourselves, he was a history teacher in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He holds a B.A. and M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
