Mai Tomabechi is a director for the business solution department at Mirairo Inc., a Universal Design consultation company, in, Tokyo Japan. In her role, she provides creative direction and guidance in developing visual materials for companies seeking to improve their accessibility. She consults accessible website design and conducts accessibility assessments to create accessibility maps. Mai conducted research on accessible theater design for audience members and performers with disabilities. She is interested in continuing to study strategies of combining Universal Design with entertainment. In her free time, she enjoys scuba diving and swimming. Mai studied human environment design at Toyo University, Tokyo, Japan.
