Liz Soper is the senior director of K-12 education for National Wildlife Federation. Liz has been with NWF for twenty-five years dedicating her career to environment-based and sustainability education, primarily with K-12 schools and local communities. Her work with NWF has a strong focus on equity and justice, green STEAM, energy/climate change, sustainable school grounds and school gardening (local food systems). She has a strong background in fundraising, public speaking and program development. She also serves as the national operator for the Eco-Schools program - a global network of 90 plus countries working on education for sustainability. She is focusing her current work on exploring and utilizing schools and their grounds as hubs for community resiliency. Outside of work, she is interested in mindfulness training and is working toward an integrative yoga therapy certification. She received a bachelor of science in wildlife biology and forestry from the University of Vermont and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Oregon.
