Linda Nathan is the co-founder and co-director of the Perrone-Sizer Institute for Creative Leadership at Hale Education. She prepares school and nonprofit leaders to transform education and community-based organizations by championing racial justice and equity, integrating artistic and design thinking, and engaging youth and families. Previously, she served as the executive director of the Center for Artistry and Scholarship (CAS) and founded Boston Arts Academy- the city's first public high school for the visual and performing arts- where she also served as headmaster. She was also the co-director of Fenway High School in Boston Public Schools. An adjunct lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Education and a professor at Cambridge College in Boston and Puerto Rico, she's a passionate teacher and author of two books: "Hardest Questions Aren't on the Test" (2009, Beacon Press) and "When Grit Isn't Enough" (October 2017, Beacon Press). She earned a bachelor of arts from University of California, Berkeley, a master of education in educational administration from Antioch College, a master of arts in theater from Emerson College and a doctor of education from Harvard University.
