Kuniko Suzuki is currently a senior fellow at The Okazaki Institute, a non-profit organization specialized in diplomatic and security affairs. Before rejoining The Okazaki Institute, she was an associate professor at The University of Tokyo, managing its Security and Safety Project. Dr. Suzuki has also experience as a government official in the Foreign Ministry and as an attaché in the Embassy of Japan in France, as well as an executive assistant to Parliament member, Dr. Taro Nakayama, former Foreign Minister. Her research focuses on security and diplomatic issues. Recent interests include the role of the military in the 21st century as well as crisis management policy. She holds a Ph.D. in political science from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan, an M.B.A. from The European University, and a diplome d'etudes approfondies in political science from the University of Toulouse, France.
