Junichi Kanebako is an associate professor at Kobe Design University in Kobe, Japan. His research deals with what he calls ky?y? musical instruments, "co-playing" interfaces for people to enjoy music together, regardless of ability or disability. Junichi is an interactive artist, musical instrument interface researcher, haptic designer, and educator. In his previouse projects, he undertook various commercial projects for clients. His two works in 2021 were called On Ring - Shinano and Vibracion Banco and they were part of the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum collection. Based on his experience of making Wearing Musical Instruments, Junichi contributed to the closing ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Prior to that, he was an assistant professor of innovation for design and engineering at the Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology in Tokyo, Japan. Junichi was born in 1984 in the village of Asashina (now part of Saku City), Kitasaku, Nagano, Japan. He obtained a Ph.D in kansei science from the University of Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan.
