Julia Lipton is C40's Director of Climate Action Planning and Innovation, supporting cities to develop and continuously improve their climate action planning and underlying data, to accelerate the delivery of effective, equitable and ambitious climate action and look towards achieving the next level of climate leadership by innovating solutions to overcome systemic barriers. Julia oversees innovation initiatives such as C40's Divest/Invest Forum and Thriving Cities which explores how cities can transform to support all people access a good life within planetary boundaries (Doughnut Economics). Julia has long history working on collaboration projects across government, community and business. Before working for C40, in her hometown of Sydney, she developed the City of Sydney's Sector Sustainability Strategies, worked for the NSW Government fostering sustainable business partnerships, and managed the UK's Corporate Responsibility Index in Australia and New Zealand. Julia has a Master's degree in Development and Bachelors of Business, both completed in Australia.
