Jui Karhadkar is a visual designer, illustrator, and design educator based in Mumbai, India. Her practice engages with visual communication, storytelling, and cultural inquiry, focusing on how images shape social imagination. She teaches at the BITS School of Design, Mumbai. Her work explores identity, representation, and narratives at the edges of dominant discourse. Her research interests extend to the intersections of caste, gender, and design, examining how visual culture reflects and reinforces everyday hierarchies. She is deeply interested in publication design and children’s literature as tools for fostering empathy and shaping more equitable media futures, which she actively integrates into her teaching. Among other dance forms she practices and engages with, Jui is also exploring Lavani, a traditional folk performance form, examining its feminist and inclusive potential as a medium for storytelling and amplifying underrepresented voices.
