Joyce Kayonga Ubalijoro is a senior nursing officer working at King Faisal Hospital, Kigali, for the past 14 years. She has held managerial posts in different units. Presently Joyce is one of the pain service personnel. A breast cancer survivor (10 years now) herself, she welcomes engaging with people in pain, because through cancer treatment, surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, she had a chance to physically understand what exactly pain is. It enhanced her reaction to pain management. Joyce is very much interested in research studies in pain management improvement, patient satisfaction and patient advocacy.
