Jonathon Gass is an infectious disease researcher and a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist based at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Jon provides M&E technical expertise to USAID's Emerging Pandemic Threats 2.0: One Health Workforce project in Southeast Asia and Central/East Africa, and the US Department of State's Biosecurity Engagement Program in Indonesia, the One Health Laboratory Network- Indonesia. He designs, implements, and provides in-country technical assistance for research and evaluation projects measuring the effectiveness of epidemic response, workforce development, and laboratory biorisk management activities. Prior to these roles, Jon worked as a researcher and epidemiologist at Ariadne Labs at the Harvard School of Public Health, Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders, and The New York Academy of Medicine. Jon received a M.P.H. from Columbia University and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University where his research focuses on the transmission dynamics of avian influenza virus at the wildlife-human interface.
