Johannes Woelfing is head of European Affairs at The Investment Association (IA), the trade association of the UK asset management industry. He is responsible for the IA's engagement in the EU and leads the IA's office in Brussels as the organization's main representative. He is also representing the organization in discussions with global regulatory bodies like IOSCO and the FSB. Johannes joined The Investment Association in 2014 as regulatory and legal specialist and has been responsible for the IA's work on macro-prudential regulation and financial stability. Johannes previously worked in the European Parliament where he was, just after the financial crisis, actively involved in the legislative processes in the ECON committee. Johannes started his career in academia in establishing a research center at Humboldt University in Berlin, where he was trained as a lawyer. Johannes is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
