Jing Xu is vice director of the Communication and Culture Research Center and a professor at the School of Journalism & Communication at Peking University, China, where she has been teaching for the past 27 years. Much of her research is focused on Chinese media and politics, public opinion, media governance, and health communication. She extends these interests to her work as founder and project manager for the Europe-CHINA Dialogue in Media and Communication Studies Summer School. As a result of her involvement in several national and international research projects, Jing has authored, co-authored, and edited five books in addition to publishing 30 journal articles. She has visited and lectured at several institutions including: Waseda University, Japan (1996-1997); Oxford University, UK (2001-2002); the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden; HK Chinese University; Hong Kong City University; Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium; and Università della Svizzera italiana. Jing received her Ph.D. at the school of International Studies, Peking University.
