Terdsak Yano is an assistant professor in the Department of Food Animal Clinics, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. His major responsibility is teaching and performing research is in swine clinic. He joined the department since 2004 and teaching in 3 swine classes, including swine diseases, swine clinical rotation and swine clinical clerkship. These classes provide for 5th and 6th veterinary students. His interests are swine practice, epidemiology, foot and mouth disease (FMD) and GIS in veterinary. His research is related to pig health and epidemiology, especially FMD. Previously, he did research about FMD in many aspects such as risk factors, the outbreak of FMD in Northern Thailand and vaccine efficacy. He is also a member of the team researching how to control Streptococcus suis infection in pig and humans in Northern Thailand. Recently, his team in Chiang Mai University has been supported by the Skoll Global Threat Fund (Ending Pandemics) to run the project called "PODD", the innovation participatory and One-Health disease surveillance with using digital technology tools. The PODD has been implemented in Chiang Mai, Thailand and expanded throughout the country within 4 years.
