Jazzy is a director, actor, and playwright residing in Memphis (USA) where she currently serves as the director of the Crosstown Arts Theater and founder of its Youth Theater program. Jazzy is an informed theatre artist and advocate for racial justice and social change. She has conducted extensive biographical research on Sojourner Truth and wrote a one-woman play on her life, Journey of Truth, which has been performed across the United States, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. She also authored Thirteen, a play that has raised awareness and calls to action to end sex trafficking. In addition to directing productions, Jazzy has been recognized as a Resident Teaching Artist by various theatres in her community and was named a Resident Artist by Rhodes College in 2015 where she continues to teach as an adjunct faculty member. She is a member of the board of directors for the Lisieux Community and Crosstown High School and serves as an advisory board member for Rhodes College's McCoy Theatre. Jazzy holds a masters in fine arts in theatre direction from the University of Memphis and a bachelor of arts in theatre from Rhodes College.
