Janet Edmond is the senior director for Peace and Development Partnerships in the Policy Center for Environment and Peace at Conservation International (CI). Building upon a strong foundation of science, partnership and field demonstration, CI empowers societies to responsibly and sustainably care for nature, our global biodiversity, for the well-being of humanity. Ms. Edmond has more than 26 years' experience managing integrated health, development and biodiversity conservation programs in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. At CI, her program promotes environmental peacebuilding as a mechanism for ensuring sustainable conservation and human well-being outcomes. Ms Edmond is an expert in family planning and reproductive health, maternal and child health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and biodiversity conservation. She holds a B.A. in international relations from Boston University and a M.P.H. from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
