The Honorable J. Christopher Giancarlo served as the thirteenth chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Christopher also served as a member of the US Financial Stability Oversight Council, the President's Working Group on Financial Markets, and the Executive Board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). Christopher is senior strategic advisor to Patomak Global Partners, a strategic advisory firm. He is also co-founder and chairman of the Digital Dollar Project and a board director, advisor, and investor in numerous public and private technology, digital asset, and financial services companies. Christopher has been recognized by Chambers as a leading US attorney for blockchain and cryptocurrencies and ranked among the ten foremost crypto lawyers by the American Crypto Association. He was appointed to the rank of Chevalier in the National Order of Merit by French President Macron in recognition of his expertise in cryptofinance. Christopher holds a B.A. from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law in Nashville, Tennessee. His book, CryptoDad: The Fight for the Future of Money, chronicles his oversight of the world's first regulated market for bitcoin derivatives and the digital network transformation of financial services. He is a Fellow of Salzburg Global.
