Irena Remestwenski is currently the Managing Director at the Research Center for the History of Transformations (RECET) at the University of Vienna. At RECET she oversees the administration, event management, and science communication, and produces the sociopolitical „Transformative Podcast". She is the National Coordinator for Austria at the initiative #ScienceForUkraine that helps refugee academics to find placements in European academia. She is also the host of 7 Ukrainian refugee fellows at her own institute in Vienna. In 2008, Irena founded the Center for Dialogue and Reconciliation "Iskra" in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, and for over a decade was active in in the field of historical-political education and conflict resolution.
