Hyeseon Do is a conservation leader with deep expertise in biodiversity governance, multi-stakeholder cooperation, and nature-based policy innovation across Asia. She recently completed her MPhil in Conservation Leadership at the University of Cambridge, where her research focused on collaborative and transformative governance models and cross-sectoral leadership to address complex conservation challenges. For six years, Hyeseon served as Senior Program Officer at the East Asian–Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP), an international partnership spanning 22 countries committed to the conservation of migratory waterbirds and wetland habitats across Asia and the Pacific. During her tenure, she spearheaded regional programmes, cultivated partnerships among international organisations, governments, NGOs, and local communities, and led large-scale initiatives that advanced policy alignment and strengthened transnational nature conservation cooperation. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she was awarded by several Korean ministries for her dedication to contributing to protecting nature and enhancing international cooperation opportunities. Hyeseon also had experience working for international organisations, including UN entities, WWF, and TEDxSeoul, helping to shape conservation strategies and policies, partnerships, and regional engagement. Earlier in her career, she coordinated desertification projects in China through Future Forest, collaborating with multi-stakeholders to deliver impactful volunteer-driven environmental campaigns. Hyeseon’s professional journey has taken her across field implementation, high-level policy forums, and research-driven international organisations. She holds a law degree from Renmin University of China and is fluent in Korean, Chinese, and English.
