Hikari Sandhu is a president of MusicAid LLC in Tokyo, Japan and dedicated to advancing music therapy practice and research across Japan and Asia. Hikari is also a registered music therapist, entrepreneur, and healthcare researcher specializing in palliative care and global health. With over a decade of experience, she has collaborated with diverse professionals, including bio researchers, global health experts, engineers, business consultants, medical doctors, and architects, to innovate within and beyond the field of music therapy. Her passion lies in empowering marginalized communities by fostering resilience through creative arts and technology, blending interdisciplinary expertise to create impactful solutions that inspire well-being and inclusion. Hikari holds a M.A. in music therapy from New York University, NY, USA and Ph.D. in health science from the Department of Community and Global Health, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan.
