Heidi Rubio Torgler is a biologist, conservationist and the current senior specialist on project Amazonia Resilient at UNDP Peru. Prior to joining this project, Ms. Rubio Torgler worked for WWF-Peru as the director of several programs and projects, especially relating to topics involving the Amazon, environmental conservation, and wildlife. She has extensive background in the areas of indigenous peoples, environmental law, environmental development, and sustainability as it relates to these topics. In her over 20 years of experience in development, territory planning, and conservation management, she has managed projects for a variety of non-governmental agencies, governmental agencies, and non-profit organizations to oversee projects uniting diverse international, interdisciplinary teams. She has a master's degree in conservation biology and sustainable development from Cayetano Heredia University, as well as a bachelor's degree in biology from Pontifical Xavierian University. In addition, she has earned a variety of postgraduate certificates and acknowledgements in the areas of tropical and biological conservation, sustainable development, and related policies.
