Acting Under Secretary, U.S. Department Treasury for International Affairs
Heath P. Tarbert will be the incoming chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He currently serves as acting under secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs and has served as the acting U.S. executive director on the Board of the World Bank Group. Prior to entering government service, Heath was a partner at the international law firm of Allen & Overy LLP. Previously, he served as senior fellow at the Harvard Law School Program on International Financial Systems, legal advisor to the Systemic Risk Council, and vice president of the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation. Heath is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. He earned his B.S. from Mount St. Mary's University, J.D. and S.J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, and his D.Phil from Oxford University, where he was a Thouron Scholar. Heath is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
