Halina Ward is director of The Foundation for Democracy and Sustainable Development, based in London. In 2009 the Foundation was born of The Environment Foundation, (where Halina was also the Director), a foundation that worked to promote creative, practical and urgent action for sustainable development. Before joining the Foundation, she was director of the Business and Sustainable Development Programme at the International Institute for Environment and Development in London. Ms. Ward has also worked as a senior fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, as a senior consultant for the consultancy ERM and as a solicitor practicing commercial environment law with the London law firm Mishcon de Reya. Ms. Ward holds an L.L.M. in law and development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
