Gukhee Kim

Author, South Korea
Gukhee is an author whose work always begins with a story. Based on a campaign-like movement with a message, she creates results such as exhibitions, performances, and videos. Since 2018, through the Jeju Foundation for Arts and Culture's Promising Artist Support Project, she has created two picture books, including artist Yunbaek Lee, entitled "Bara the Vegetarian Tiger" and "The Book to Sleep." In 2020, this project was selected as an international art exchange support project among the Arts Council Korea's Literature Promotion Fund, whose work supports youth artists' overseas expansion. In the future, Gukhee plans to work on a series of fairy tales entitled "Sticky Sticky", based on acting theory with European and American painting artists. The three topics that have been at the center of Gukhee's thoughts for the past five years are, "calling a name, finding my place, and acknowledging the gap." The quote, "all beings are connected and influence each other" puts her thoughts at the center of life and work. Gukhee studied literature in both undergraduate and graduate school.
